Six measurements. A little guidance. A piece that feels like you.

Before you begin

Use a soft measuring tape and a mirror, or ask someone to help.

Secure your hair flat as you plan to wear it under the wig. Keep the tape flat and comfortably snug, without pulling tight.

Measure each path twice. If the readings differ, check the tape position and try again.

Add what you know. Use decimals such as 21.5, or fractions such as 21 1/2. You can save a draft and return later.

Tape starts at the front hairline, passes immediately behind the ears, and wraps low across the nape at the lower hairline.View detail ↗

Start at the centre of your front hairline. Follow the hairline just behind the ears, low across the nape at the back, then return to the start.

Start at the centre of your front hairline. Measure over the middle of your head to the hairline at the nape.

Front view: tape follows the front hairline from the sideburn immediately in front of one ear to the opposite sideburn.View detail ↗

Start at the sideburn immediately in front of one ear. Follow your front hairline across the forehead to the opposite sideburn, in front of the other ear.

Front view: tape passes above the ears and over the crown, leaving the forehead clear.View detail ↗

From the hairline above one ear, pass the tape over the top of your head to the matching point above the opposite ear.

Rear view: tape runs from one temple around the back of the head to the other temple.View detail ↗

Measure from one temple around the back of your head to the other temple. Keep the tape level so it cannot slip down.

Rear view: tape measures only the width of the lower hairline at the nape.View detail ↗

Measure the width of your lower hairline at the back of your neck, from one side to the other. Measure the width, not around your neck.
